Vacation Extra Centre



Our Summer Centre in Oxford takes place at Kings’ year-round campus for academic preparation, St. Josephs. Here, students have access to a range of on-site facilities, including a large student cafeteria, an outside patio, and large well-equipped classrooms and resource areas. St. Josephs is located in a quiet residential area of the city but with local amenities including a library, swimming pool, gym and shops all within easy walking distance.

Intensive Academic

27 hours of lessons per week of academic English, a range of academic subjects and IELTS preparation. Students also have a programme of excursions and university counselling sessions.

Summer Medical Programme

For students who are interested in learning more about the study of medicine and related professions. 24 hours per week of English lessons, science for medicine, and sessions preparing for medical studies, plus excursions.

Super Intensive IELTS

A highly intensive course concentrating 100% on IELTS for maximum exam preparation in as short a time as possible.

Crescent Hall Summer Residence

  • Less than 5 minutes walk from the school
  • Single rooms in self-contained apartments of 6 study bedrooms — each with 2 toilets, 2 bathrooms and a telephone
  • On-site warden
  • Laundry facilities on site
  • Garden and TV lounge for communal use
  • Available from 23 June to 11 August 2019

Meal plan

Full-board meal plan is included in the price. Breakfast and dinner are provided every day in the school cafeteria. Lunch is available at the school cafeteria, or as a packed lunch on excursion days.

For students on Intensive Academic, Medical Summer Programme and Super Intensive IELTS programmes:

Wavy Gate Residence

  • 15 minutes' walk from the school
  • Single en-suite rooms, in apartments where 6 students share kitchen/ sitting room
  • On-site warden
  • Laundry facilities on site
  • Student common room for communal use

Meal plan

Half-board meals are provided in the school cafeteria. Half-board is breakfast and lunch Monday to Friday (10 meals per week). 

Evening curfews

Please note that there are curfews in place for all students under 18. Students aged under 16 must return to their accommodation by 21.30 every evening. Students aged 16 – 17 must return by 22.30 every evening.
