About the programmes

We offer a range of specialist activities at selected UK residential centres, in conjunction with the main Summer Course. Supplement applies.

Please note, these programmes require a minimum number of students in order to run.

Horse riding

Available at: Bath (Downside)

Age range: 8–17

Additional hours per week: 6 hours

Minimum entry level: Beginner

Duration: 1–4 weeks (1-week bookings accepted for 7 and 14 August starts only)

Start dates: 3, 10, 17, 24, 31 July; 7, 14 August 2019

Students will receive tuition at a local approved stables in walking, trotting, cantering, jumping, hacking and horse management (according to level).

Performing Arts

Available at: Cheltenham

Age range: 12–17

Additional hours per week: 9 hours

Minimum entry level: Beginner

Duration: 2 weeks (3 – 17 July; 17 – 31 July 2019)

Students improve their English whilst learning and practising specialist Performing Arts skills. They will have the opportunity to take part in the creation of a short musical or play.

Tennis

Age range: 8–17

Additional hours per week: 6 hours

Duration: 1–4 weeks (1-week bookings accepted for 7 and 14 August starts only)

A professional tennis coach helps students practise ball skills, learn to serve and develop match play techniques, skills and fitness. This takes place on site.

Harry Potter

Available at: Cheltenham

Age range: 12–17

Additional hours per week: 6 hours

Minimum entry level: Beginner

Duration: 2 weeks (3 – 17 July; 17 – 31 July 2019)

A 2-week course with classes in magic, wizardry and a study of Harry Potter characters. Go on a Harry Potter trail in Oxford including Christchurch College and Bodleian library. Attend Harry Potter movie night, themed disco and quiz plus a visit to the Harry Potter set at Warner Brothers Studio, London.
